The Perth Integrated Events Team invites you to join hundreds of dedicated cyclists for the Tour of Albany in support of MSWA. We continue to tradition that we have set since our creation of this beautiful event to support our charity partner MSWA some 6 years ago
As such it will be the same Event Management team with the same safety creed and the attention to detail and the same nominated charity which is MSWA whom we love.
There will be three distance to choose from – Piccolo 40km, Medio 88km and Gran 140km. All rides commence at Emu Point and will take you through the outer fringes of the City, along the scenic coastline towards Two People’s Bay for the Medio and Gran, past some of Albany’s iconic locations and towards Castle Rock for the Gran Distance.
As a break from tradition, with the three distances, the Gran Distance will permit Teams of 4 riders to have their very own Team Car to support them on the journey from Two People’s Bay towards Castle Rock and back towards Emu Point, both for the safety aspect and to provide participants with a taste of how support vehicles operate in the major Tours!
The Tour of Albany is an open road event with no road closures. You will be supported by our accurate GPX / TCX files, directional cue sheets, directional signage on the route as well as via our Safety Vehicles throughout the course.

In a first for the Tour of Albany and in keeping with our tradition of safety, we will be permitted the Gran Distance riders to form into groups of four riders with an additional designated driver driving their own Team Car for this distance. This Team Car category which is unique to the Gran Distance will be permitted to operate from the turnoff heading towards Two People’s Bay and then heading northwards to Castle Rock Estate, taking in the vistas of the Porongurup Ranges in the distance.
The Team Car category will allow for riders to have close support and assistance with the distance and duration of 140km and riders can be expected to be on the road for up to 6 hours.
All categories will be supported by the Perth Integrated Events Team with Team Safety Vehicles and the routes also clearly sign posted with provisions of electronic navigation programs, directional cue sheets and map.
In a typical Team Car setting, all spares, equipment, hydration and food supplies can be carried to lighten the load of the rider and with the anticipated open country along the way to Castle Rock, teams can work with their team cars for shelter from the wind and within themselves also rotate to ride and drive for comradery and safety reasons.
The Team Car format is unique to Perth Integrated Events Team and a method of event participation to ensure enjoyment that only cyclists creating for cyclists can appreciate and enjoy!
